With more and more COVID-19 cases appearing, it may be harder to show that your illness came from work. It is very important to collect evidence that you contracted the virus at work. If you believe you had a COVID-19 exposure at work, document exactly when and where you believe you came into contact with the virus. Complete a WSIB Exposure Form and send it to WSIB to support your claim.
If you become sick and are making a claim with WSIB, detail when and where you contracted COVID-19 in the Form 6 you complete. If your employer argues it was community contracted in the Form 7, make sure to contact your Case Manager at WSIB to challenge this.
